METALS IN OUR JEWELLERY
November 16, 2020How to make sure your custom requests will fit you properly
Figuring out the right measurements of your wrist is important for having the perfect fit for your bracelets, well at least if you want to actually be able to put the darn things on!
When it comes to sizing, everyone has a different preference. Some people may want a snug fit and others prefer the bracelets to sit little loose so they just float on the wrist. These details are key to ensure you get the perfect fit. So we suggest the best option is to take your measurements to be precise.
What you will need:
Option 1 – String, marker, ruler
Option 2 – Paper, scissors, marker, ruler
Option 3 – measuring tape
Option 1
Use a piece of string that’s about 30 cm long so there is enough excess to wrap around your wrist.
Lay the string in a straight line form left to right and set your wrist on top, palm is face up.
Wrap the ends over your wrist so it overlaps in the middle, snug enough for accuracy or loose enough for accuracy (depending on how you want it to fit).
Mark a point on the string with a marker where it overlaps on your wrist. Once again, make sure the string fits snugly against your skin before you make your mark. Not tight, just snug.
Use a marker to draw dots on the string where it overlaps itself. Make sure to mark both ends of the string for accuracy.
Stretch the string against a ruler to find your measurements. You can either pinch the string with one finger and pull it against the ruler or lay it flat on the table while stretching it out. Write down your measurement so you don’t forget it.
Tips. Use your wrist bone as a reference point. If you want your piece to not be so snug, try adding 1.3 cm
Option 2
You will need paper, scissors and rock. Just kidding, you won’t need the rock, but I couldn’t let that one go.
Measure and cut a strip of paper 1.3 cm and 3 cm wide and wrap it around your wrist. Use a marker to mark the paper where it begins to overlap and then measure the strip of paper to the marked area for your measurements.
Tips. Use your wrist bone as a reference point. If you want your piece to not be so snug, try adding 1.3 cm
Option 3
If you’re using a flexible measuring tape, make sure you start where it says “0”. Then wrap the measuring tape around your wrist and pinch both ends together to see where the number lines back up with the “0” label to get your total measurements.
We always want to ensure that you are 100% satisfied with your requests. But we do need a little help in ensuring we have the correct measurements, so these examples are our go to ways to make sure they fit you like a dream.
